Arazede is a village and parish in the municipality of Montemor-o-Velho, coimbra district, located in the province of Beira Litoral, central region and sub-region of Coimbra Region, with 52.72 km² of area and 5 508 inhabitants (2011). Its population density is 104.5 inhabitants/km².

Arazede was the seat of municipality and village between 1781 and 1840, when it was annexed to the municipality of Cadima. In 1801 it had 3,626 inhabitants and consisted only of the parish of the host. [1] In 1853, by decree of 31 December, Arazede was integrated into the municipality of Montemor-o-Velho.

His owners were the bishop of Coimbra and the Monastery of Santa Cruz de Coimbra, passing the latter to the University of Coimbra.

The traditional celebrations in Honor of Our Lady of The Weeby, patron saint of Arazede, take place on August 15.

Arazede was elevated to The Village by Decree-Law 46/88 of April 19.
